Under Result Area 1 of EDE-CPIRA, WSTF is funding rehabilitation and improvements works comprising of slow sand filters treatment works, intermediate pressure break storage tank and a 6Km pipeline section, and installation of 400 water meters.

SNV supported signing and adoption of a management model that blends delegation and Professional Manager (PM) models between Kapenguria Water and Sanitation Services Company Limited (KAWASES) and Muruny – Chepareria Community Water Users Association. Under the partnership, KAWASES took over the day-to-day operation of Muruny – Chepareria community water supply system and hired a professional manager to run the scheme.

The water committee is tasked with mobilising community, sensitizing them on payment for water services, and catchment protection. The County Government of West Pokot supervises the arrangement.
