Embasyy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Regional Learning Visit

The LISTEN Project hosted a delegation of forty participants, including representatives from Dutch Embassies in the Horn of Africa and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, for a three-day learning visit.

The visit aimed to extract key lessons from the SNV-AGRA-FCDC Consortium and evaluate its effectiveness in project implementation. Participants examined various interventions focused on women and youth empowerment, especially in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) context.

The delegation also discussed integrated water resource management to enhance agricultural productivity using the landscape approach, emphasizing the role of Water Resource Users Associations (WRUAs). Additionally, the impact of Village-Based Advisors (VBAs), a strategy introduced by the projectAGRA in Laikipia, Isiolo, and Samburu, was highlighted for effectively bridging the extension gap and delivering inputs to smallholder farmers.
