The Generation Forest - Planting Permanent Forests in Panama
Site
Finca Solis - Lastenia
Reforestation 31,33 ha

About 30 years ago, forests were cut down here and the land was used as pasture for cows. Surrounding there are other pastures and reforestations. The finca has drains and streams that carry water in the rainy season. Soil conservation measures are always necessary. The farm is not located near any protected areas, the comarcas of the Emberá Wounaan and the Kuna Indians are only a few kilometers away. No conflicts with neighbors were found.

The land is of good technical quality and shows good characteristics of relief, soil and climate. Good access and within a radius of 35 km to other cooperative lands. There is a possibility to buy more land from neighbors.

Species suitable for reforestation:
Dalbergia retusa (cocobolo)
Tabebuia rosea (savanna oak)
Tabebuia impetiginosa (Ipe)
Cedrela odorata (bitter cedar or royal cedar)
Dipteryx panamensis (mountain almond tree)
Swietenia macrophylla (mahogany)
Tectona grandis (teak)
Miroxylon balsam (balsam)
Astronium gravioles (Tigerwood)
