In Teticha, Dawit Dawalke, 27, and Lomi Yobora, 23, of Loya Idget COOP received training on cultivating and harvesting bamboo. By thinning older culms and nurturing new shoots, they increased bamboo diameter, length, and yield, improving crop quality and market value. With active management, the COOP now sells thicker culms at double the price, significantly boosting their 2023 annual income to ETB 350,000. Celebrate their achievement in sustainable bamboo farming.
