Hanna's Bamboo Enterprise Flourishes

In 2023, we highlighted Hanna Kebede, an enthusiastic TVET graduate. At just 23 years old, Hanna co-founded a bamboo processing enterprise in Hula Woreda with 6 young women and 2 young men, supported by African Bamboo. Through intensive training in business, accounting, and machine operations, her team built a strong business plan. With a ETB 120,000 bank loan, they acquired bamboo processing machinery and now produce furniture and mats for the local market, generating nearly ETB 200,000 in revenue. As the treasurer, Hanna ensures financial stability while empowering other women to pursue their ambitions. African Bamboo aims to upskill 45,000 beneficiaries in the next decade, enabling transformative stories like Hanna's.
