Canada - Hanceville Fire Restoration

The 2017 Hanceville Fire burned approximately 590,000 acres of land. Without tree planting in this area, the
forest would take decades to grow back and restore its complex ecosystems. Tree planting efforts have
reintroduced over a million diverse, native species, including deciduous seedlings which help reduce the
potential for future wildfires. Reforesting this fire impacted area will help ecosystem recovery, sequester
carbon, improve the water cycle, and provide much needed protection against future wildfires.
