We are delighted that we were able to plant another 20,000 trees this season, taking the total to an incredible 140,000 since 2019. In this area, we are helping to restore degraded land and rebuild essential wildlife corridors.
Sarah from Go Forest joined Nicoleta Carpineanu to Groapele in the Fagaras Mountains. They met the project managers and tree planters on site and got involved with the planting. Reforestation here is challenging work – the area planted this season was at the highest altitude so far at nearly 1,500 meters.
Nicoleta also visited areas where we have planted in previous years to see the saplings’ growth, including Dobroneagu, the very first place we planted – and survival rates are high, despite harsh conditions, which is fantastic news.
