Project
Chintumukulu Conservancy
Zambia, Mpumba Chiefdom, Lavushi Manda District started 2020 Active Conservation
Summary
Threatened with deforestation, Zambia’s Chintumukulu Conservancy is surrounded by National Parks in which lions, leopards, elephants, hippopotamus and buffalo roam. This conservation project will be the first stepping stone in establishing the 68 000-hectare, 40km Mpumba Forest Corridor linking the National Parks of South Luangwa and Lavushi Manda, and will create the vision, partnerships, strategy and action plan for the long-term restoration and protection of this far larger forest landscape.
