On November 25 and 26, 2023, the third and final pilot of the year for the commercialization of southern hake was carried out by community members of Puerto Gala in Aysén.
With the on-the-ground assistance of a consultant associated with the project, the last 600 kg of southern hake (of the 1800 kg earmarked for this series of pilots) were landed and transported in sealed iceboxes to Puerto Chacabuco for storage. The products were processed in a different plant from the one used in earlier pilots, allowing fishers to observe alternative processing techniques.
