At the end of the recent workshop with stakeholders in Sussundenga, the
community leader of Gotogoto community stood up to speak on behalf of
the community focus group, saying “we are ready to mobilize our
communities for restoration.” This sentiment, offered in support of Eden’s
theory of change and proposed activities, indicates an openness to aligning
to a shared vision over the course of the project. Eden’s ability to translate
this sentiment into action is critical to restoration success. To monitor this,
Eden’s recently validated logframe tracks not only the number of hectares
under restoration, but the number of hectares that communities identify for
restoration, protection, and regenerative agriculture in their land use plans.
