Rainy season arrives in Chimanimani

Chimanimani, like many other landscapes, has distinct rainy and dry seasons. Rainy season typically lasts from November to March, bringing much needed water to forests and farms in the landscape.

Water, an essential resource for young trees, is a critical consideration in forest restoration. To ensure young seedlings have the highest chance of survival, we sync our restoration work to the seasonality of a landscape. This means that if rains arrive late, as they did in 2024, we delay planting to ensure trees have a chance to thrive. This patience and flexibility is essential to restoration success in seasonal climates. Stay tuned for more updates on our active planting season in Chimanimani.
