TONTOTON Material Recovery Facility
Material Recovery Facility – The heart of the operation

To create a truly circular solution, our partner TONTOTON opened a Material Recovery Facility in the heart of Sihanoukville. Here, the plastic waste is segregated and prepared for the next steps. Non-commercially recyclable PP, HDPE, and LDPE* in good condition are upcycled into new products like housing materials and furniture. PET* is sent to a bottle-to-bottle factory to be recycled, and degraded plastic is sent for co-processing to be used as an alternative energy source.

Click the "Gallery" button above to see the complex processes of upcycling and the possible end products.

PP: Polypropylene (e.g., hot food containers)
HDPE: High-Density Polyethylene (e.g., shampoo bottles)
LDPE: Low-Density Polyethylene (e.g., grocery bags)
PET: Polyethylene Terephthalate (e.g., food & drink packaging)
