To create a truly circular solution, our partner TONTOTON opened a Material Recovery Facility in the heart of Sihanoukville. Here, the plastic waste is segregated and prepared for the next steps. Non-commercially recyclable PP, HDPE, and LDPE* in good condition are upcycled into new products like housing materials and furniture. PET* is sent to a bottle-to-bottle factory to be recycled, and degraded plastic is sent for co-processing to be used as an alternative energy source.
Click the "Gallery" button above to see the complex processes of upcycling and the possible end products.
