Agricultural Biochar: Chemical Analysis and Development Funding Appeal!

Regenerative Agriculture can not be complete without addressing soil health. Most soils in Kenya farms have been degraded due to over use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. MOOF is using locally designed cheap and scalable technologies to produce and develop high quality Biochar. We use waste agricultural wastes , dead wood, saw mill wastes, Macadamia nuts shells, and farm clearing biomass materials to produce biochar. A 200 litres old oil barrel is used as our biochar Kiln. This is cheap and is scalable. Farmers also use agroforestry trees pruning and coppicing materials to make biochar which is them recycled back into the soil. High quality biochar provides homes for the soil microbes, have a high water holding capacity, it is inert carbon and lasts for more than 100 years in the soil, it support carbon sequestration. MOOF use charged and raw Biochar for agricultural use. We use enormous livestock manure , rabbits urine and Vermi-Liquid , soil mycorrhiza bacteria to charge biochar . This inoculated biochar helps to add the necessary nutrients in the soil for plant growth. Biochar is also used a a seedlings propagation media in nurseries. This is a old products which has found its way into modern Agricultural Technologies towards regenerative Agriculture. Appeal : In order to expand our Biochar production we need to conduct chemicals analysis in a local laboratory in Kenya against heavy metals . critical if we will use biochar for agricultural soil amendments . We are looking for $USD50,000 for biochar Chomical analysis production and development into a product. If you are interested to support our biochar ventures ,Please get in touch : moofafrica@gmail.com
