The M&E team are currently in the thick of the forests, monitoring our older restoration sites and checking up on the trees planted over the years (both old and new).

They're currently monitoring Greenpop's older reforestation sites by selecting a number of transects through each site at random, to get an unbiased view of the area, before they move on to monitoring the newer sites where they will be using Greenpop's updated monitoring methodology of using representative plots within each site.

The team are also measuring the trees themselves, including the height, basal width and canopy cover - as well as assessing the area in between the trees to see the type of ground coverage and any signs of animal life.
