Soup Kitchen Donation

A Heartfelt Donation

ABALOBI donated and dispatched 150kg of fish from Cape Town to a local soup kitchen in Langebaan run by Ms Solene Smith (affectionately known as Aunty Solene). The fish was donated to help Aunty Solene's soup kitchen provide food to the less fortunate.

Upon arrival of the ABALOBI delivery vehicle, the ladies of the soup kitchen were waiting with great anticipation and excitement. A lot of curious bystanders were also present for the momentous day.

Aunty Solene's Testimony

"The contribution has made a significant impact on the community, particularly on the lives of children who rely on that extra meal, especially during the school holidays, where not all food schemes keep going that are run by schools, and that a lot of children rely on. This proved to be a big injection in sustaining the momentum of food security in the community during this period.

A lot of people, and especially children in our community, are particularly vulnerable. ABALOBI's thoughtful donations have helped us to address these challenges. By incorporating fish into our meal programs, we can offer them a valuable source of high-quality protein.

ABALOBI's generosity has also created a sense of hope and belonging within our community. Receiving this fish donation showcases the solidarity and compassion, instilling a belief that no one should go hungry. The smiles on the children's faces as they enjoy a delicious and nourishing fish meal are a testament to the positive influence ABALOBI has had on their lives." - Aunty Solene

A Nourished Community

Aunty Solene and her team had spent the last few weeks preparing meals that included either lunch or supper for the community in need. ABALOBI is honoured to have been able to make a positive impact in lives of the Langebaan community and we applaud Aunty Solene and the soup kitchen team for their hard work and dedication who reported that attendance had been overwhelming.

Aunty Solene and her soup kitchen team expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the donation.
