Langebaan Market Day

"We were well on time and arrived an hour before the time to set up. Excitement had me even earlier on site to do final recon on the site. During this time, I was greeted by two elderly women to ask what time we will be opening shop, which was an indicator that our message went well in terms of marketing. In our approach towards the event I need to note that we took a focused marketing approach for the specific area that we wanted to target – which was Seaview Park, Langebaan, an RDP community. We spent quite a bit of time physically handing out flyers in this area.

The first 30 minutes started slow. But after the 1st customer, the rest of the community just flocked.

The community was genuinely impressed with our product! We were also visited by the gatekeeper of the community, the ward councillor, MMC Wilhelm America, resident of Seaview Park - and the reaction and feedback went really well.

We arrived on site with 101.33kg or 159 units and the aim was to sell everything in the 4 hours we allocated to the event which was from 10h00 – 14h00. We arrived with Cape Bream, Silvers and Yellowtail – so we had a diverse selection of species. We sold everything a nudge before 14h00.

It was a beautiful experience that a lot of valuable lessons were learnt. From planning right down to execution. We were on point with almost everything."
