Pantry Training Course 2 Completed

ABALOBI hosted a pantry training workshop and learning exchange in Arniston, South Africa. The event brought together 12 shore harvester women from the community of Hamburg in the Eastern Cape, Aunt Hilda from Weskusmandjie, and the three ladies of Kassiesbaai Kitchen.

The Workshop Content and Activities

The workshop provided participants with valuable knowledge and skills in various aspects of pantry production, including business basics, personal and kitchen hygiene, product design, packaging and label design, preserving concepts, sterilization, and more. In addition to theoretical sessions, participants also engaged in hands-on cooking lessons, tried out homework recipes, and tasted various products.

Collaboration and Exchange

The learning exchange component of the workshop was particularly valuable, as it allowed participants to share their experiences and learn from each other's unique perspectives and approaches to pantry production. Each participant had a different method of preparing and cooking shellfish, and this exchange of knowledge and insights enriched the learning experience for everyone involved.

Success and Feedback

The workshop was a resounding success, with all participants rating their experience as excellent. They praised the relevance and quality of the content presented, the opportunity to actively contribute their ideas and opinions, and the comfortable and supportive learning environment.
