A big focus of our work is on securing employment opportunities for the communities that surround Kogyae. Research by the Forestry Commission of Ghana shows that poaching and environmental degradation of forest reserves usually takes place when communities are not harvesting crops, therefore it is essential that we create numerous opportunities for employment throughout the year, if not, the reserves of Ghana will continue to be decimated due to lack of work opportunities for the communities that surround reserves.
