Pangani Relics - An Endangered Biodiversity Paradise
Community workshop

A balance between nature and human existence needs to be struck
To restore thIs site to its former glory, there is a need to actively engage the communities living around the relic patches through education on restoration and sustainable use of forest resources.
The project aims to build capacity and create awareness about restoration activities to 30 community champions who will in turn educate and train the larger community on these sustainable practices. With education and innovative socioeconomic activities such as beekeeping, ecotourism, butterfly farming, and indigenous tree propagation, the livelihoods of the community will be supported and improved which will have a positive impact on the forest as pressure will be reduced.
