This zone showcases the soil regeneration cycle in action. The by-product of methane capture—biogas digestate—is processed and applied as organic fertilizer. This restores microbial activity, enhances soil organic carbon, and reduces the region’s dependence on synthetic nitrogen fertilizers (often imported and fossil-fuel-based). Farmers here report improved yields, lower input costs, and more resilient crops under erratic rainfall. This closed-loop system transforms a waste stream into a soil nutrient and carbon sink enhancement strategy. With expansion, this model could reverse land degradation and make Cameroon a leader in climate-smart, soil-first agriculture.
