The Small Holding Scheme in Pamol was established in the 1970s. Its, intents and purposes being;
Consequently, Pamol developed ten (10) hectares demonstration farms at its expense in each of the six villages with customary rights to land leased to Pamol in Lobe Estate namely; Lipenja Town, Ngolo Metoko, Ekondo Titi, Lobe Town, Kumbe Balondo and Bongongo I. These community farms were entrusted to the villagers through the village council that was headed by the chief and maintained by these villages but the company assisted them in harvesting and transportation. Later on, some enterprising and innovative individuals and villagers copied the idea and started developing their own plantations. With this new attitude and impetus, by 1980 and the 1990's the company became impressed and invited some interested persons to register their farms under the Smallholding scheme so as to benefit from Pamol technical assistance and also get inputs. Inputs included free seedlings, fertilizers and pest guards. In return, the company expected them to sell their crop to the company.
The company encourages the development of oil palm smallholdings around her Estates and the results are positive. About 6,399 ha of oil palms belonging to 913 smallholders have been censured having an estimated production potential of 30.000 tons FFB/year that is expected to be processed by Pamol.
