Wild garlic sprouting up
Wild garlic (or Ramsons) shoots are sprouting in the garden. This is a sign of the steady movement from Winter into Spring. And it is a sign that we will soon be harvesting our first forest crop of the year!

Caring for the plants in the orchard
We cleared around the gooseberries and red currants and placed wood chips around them. This will develop soil health around the plants while preventing grass from growing.

We always need a good supply of wood chips in the forest garden. And with this wet summer, it's important to put a wood chip layer down along the paths. This way visitors can navigate the wilder parts of the garden without getting too muddy.
