Direct Engagement: An ABALOBI representative, accompanied by a Seychelles Fishing Authority (SFA) technician, traveled to La Digue and Praslin islands to engage directly with local fishers. During this trip, they had one-on-one interactions with numerous fishers from both islands.
Installation of NEMO devices: The SFA technician installed NEMO devices directly onto the fishing boats. Additionally, fishers signed data-sharing agreements, allowing the SFA and ABALOBI to access the data they submit throughout the project.
Demonstration and Installation of the FISHER app: During these engagements, the fishers received a comprehensive demonstration of the FISHER app, which was subsequently installed on their smartphones. This hands-on, individualized approach ensured that fishers were well-equipped to use the app for effective data collection.
