Mobile – Tombigbee River Basin

The Mobile – Tombigbee River Basin covers most of the state of Alabama and extends into Mississipi. A haven of biodiversity, it accounts for 14% of all freshwater flowing in the United States and a critical habitat for more than 140 threatened or endangered fish and wildlife, many of which are found nowhere else on earth, including the greatest biodversity of freshwater snail species in the world.
