Rewilding the Swedish Lapland
Swedish Lapland • Sweden Started in January 2016 Active Conservation, Education, Research, Restoration, Tourism
Summary
Rewilding Europe is working with Rewilding Sweden to secure and restore free-flowing rivers. This, in turn, will support the migration and breeding of salmon, trout and other species, connecting mountains with the sea through so-called bluegreen corridors. The main focus is on the Råne River, which has a catchment area of over 4,200 km2 and is one the wildest (least impacted) large rivers in Europe.
