The Pampas del Heath National Sanctuary
The Pampas del Heath National Sanctuary (created in 1983) is a border territory with Bolivia. Delimited by the rivers Heath and Palma Real. It is protected as the only ecosystem of savannahs or wet grasslands of Peru, which harbors strange species of flora and fauna. Its purpose is to help preserve the deer of the swamps that only inhabit this sector of Peru, and protect the flora and fauna of the Heath ecosystem.
