(ES) El día 4 de octubre del 2021 ocurrió un incendio forestal que lamentablemente ha quemado el 25% de los 70.000 árboles autóctonos plantados hasta esa fecha.
El incendio ha comenzado en zonas aledañas a la reserva y de forma inmediata se ha expandido a la misma. Aparentemente la causa fue provocada por granjeros locales con la necesidad de quemar maleza para luego preparar la tierra para desarrollar actividad agropecuaria.
Urgentemente, Changamoto Youth Development Organization tomó cartas en el asunto y desarrollo una serie de reuniones con las comunidades en Kwemashai para promover el cuidado de la misma y evitar nuevos siniestros.

(EN) On October 4, 2021, a forest fire occurred that unfortunately has burned 25% of the 70,000 native trees planted to that date. The fire has started in areas surrounding the reserve and has immediately spread to it. The cause was caused by local farmers with the need to burn weeds to later prepare the land to develop an agricultural activity. Urgently, Changamoto Youth Development Organization took action on the matter and held a series of meetings with the communities in Kwemashai to promote the care of the same and avoid new accidents.
