La Cuchara Lagoon (cuchara is spoon in english. Name given due to its spoon-like shape) is a natural lagoon located in the norhteastern part of the reserve. It is an oasis for wildlife during the dry season from February to June. It is a great place to spot wildlife during this season. Also it is a favorite spot for pouchers to hunt during the dry season. We try to do our best efforts to control illegal poaching but it is difficult due to lack of financial resources. We are creating alliances with NGOs like WCS for monitoring wildlife in this site and WWF for getting resources to hire rangers to control pouching and illegal logging.
