In the fall of 2023, participants of our Water Retention Landscape course embarked on a hands-on journey to design their own water retention landscape. The training began with the construction of swales using two different machines: a tractor and an excavator. Later, plants were placed in the swales to improve water retention and soil health.
Additionally, a small seasonal pond was established at the bottom of the valley. This pond will play a crucial role in capturing and storing water during the wetter months, contributing to the overall sustainability of the landscape.
Through this course, participants gained valuable practical experience and contributed to the ecological improvement of our property. We are proud of their hard work and look forward to seeing the positive impact of their efforts in the coming seasons.
