32-year-old Birhanu A. has three young children. Working as a casual labourer on his neighbour's farm and in the nearby village wasn't enough to support his family, and renting land was too expensive. "Two years ago, I got a call from the village administrator looking for landless youth without a job to work in the Exclosures," he says. He saw this as a chance to improve his income while protecting his homeland. "WeForest has been providing support and training so that we can not only continue to protect the Exclosures but also enrich them with additional trees and shrubs."
