Caring for 1000 seedlings

Kiros G., one of the forest guards, is involved in the protection and management of the restoration site locally known as the Guragursa watershed. Most of the time he spends the day cultivating the planted and naturally regenerated seedlings. He alone manages more than 1000 seedlings, building structures such as micro-basins to conserve water and prevent soil erosion. “Some of the seedlings have reached a height of more than two meters. When I see this, I feel happy that the area is re-vegetating. The local community is thankful to WeForest for these changes,” he says.
