Camera traps provide data on species location, population sizes, how species are interacting, and is also a very non-invasive tool to monitor wildlife.

“Desa’a was on the brink of collapse, a broken landscape that threatened wildlife movement. But after six years of restoration, the forest breathes again, offering life, refuge, and the return of even the largest wildlife. Today, the leopard runs again. Our restoration of the Dry Afromontane forest in Desa, Tigray is not just about planting trees—it’s about bringing life back to where it was once lost", says Akilu Negussie Mekuria, Ethiopia country director at WeForest.
