Shokut Naretoi water supply scheme is comprised of a 53km gravity pipeline, sourcing water from Nolturesh springs and supplying to the communities through 19 community water kiosks, 4. No. institutions (3 schools and one dispensary), and several individual household connections.

SNV facilitated reconstitution of the water committee to become representative of all communities supplied. The committee has been trained on governance, record keeping and financial management. Nolturesh and Nalepo water resources user associations (WRUAs) are critical to conservation of the water catchment.

SNV trained the two WRUAs on integrated sub catchment management. SNCDP through the pipeline management committee is supporting WRUA conservation activities, notably fencing of the water source.

SNV is also facilitating partnership discussions between the committee and Oloitoktok water and sewerage company. A partnership with the utility will guarantee technical support required for efficient management of the system.
