Kabati Water Supply System

Ndovoi Borehole Kabati water supply system is a community managed water supply scheme located near Kabati market, within, Kauwi ward, Kitui West Sub County. The water system serves a section of communities within Kauwi and Kivani wards as sub-locations. The scheme is comprised of a solar-powered borehole with a yield of about 10 m3/hr, serving 40 No. of household connections (slight increase from 28 connections in April 2022), and serving 2 No. institutional connections – Kauwi mixed vocational training centre with enrolment of 357 students (187 males and 170 females) & Kabati Chief’s camp which houses the administration police. The project is currently managed by a committee elected by members of Kabati Self Help Group, under a County authorised delegated management model contract.
