Sajiloni community managed water project was commissioned in 1951 to supply water to Sajiloni, Nginye, Olomayan and Nalepa communities. The infrastructure comprises of a borehole with a yield of approximately 9m3 per hour. Water is pumped using mains electricity to a 60m3 storage tank which feeds a 50m3 from where water is supplied by gravity to Sajiloni market, Sajiloni girls’ secondary school with an enrolment of 323 girls, Sajiloni dispensary, several individual household connections, and to Olomayiana community water kiosk 6Km away. The system serves about 200 households, and water is mainly used for domestic and livestock consumption. The water committee has been trained on record keeping, financial management, and general operation and maintenance.
