Background

As a paper and other paper-based products manufacturer, as well as a manufacturer and marketeer of printers and other devices that use paper, Epson has significant impacts and dependencies on forest.

Scope of Work

WWF and Epson are collaborating to improve the use of forest resources in Epson’s supply chain. Initial work focuses on:

• Strengthening policy: Epson is working to update and strengthen its procurement policies to enhance its responsible paper sourcing and ensure no deforestation;
• Traceability: Epson is engaging its value chain stakeholders to gather information for increased traceability and transparency;
• Due diligence: Epson is developing a robust due diligence system.

By understanding the importance of the responsible use of forest resources and taking necessary actions, it is expected to have a significant positive impact on natural- and plantation forests in Epson's supply chains globally.
