Precious life in sight

A bird landed on our car. What is a cute little creature doing out here, in the middle of nowhere ? This is our first encounter since our entry in the North Pole.
Who knows, we might soon face polar bears if our luck will be in our favor.

In children's travel books, when sailors saw birds it meant that land was close. This is a good sign, a sign of life !

Please leave a comment in the video if you know what type of bird it is!

Here are some details about the current weather to help you analyze:
It is currently 15 degrees Celsius, surprisingly stable ice, no sun, we still have 333 km until we reach our next destination: Greenland.

However, our hardship doesn't stop here. A new challenge was awaiting us a little bit further while were were still happy from seeing a bird in the middle of the white desert. Elagin decided to ice sailing in order to set up our water crossing technology as seen in the above video.

To explain it in a few words, it is a technology that works in 2 steps:

  1. Two people are transported on an inflatable boat to the other side of the ice. They bring with them a rope that will connect both ends from where the crossing will happen.

  2. On the shore where the cars remain, one end of the rope is attached to the car that will be crossing, while the car that has already passed through to the other side will push towards itself the other car to cross the dangerous ice.

Here is another video to illustrate the process:
