Summary
Home to threatened Asian elephants, Ulu Muda Forest Complex is a key biodiversity hotspot and a vital ecological linkage to remaining forest blocks in Peninsular Malaysia. The forest provides vital ecosystem services including water and food for the people in the region. With the support of SIG, WWF will work with local- and state authorities and local communities to improve the management of 170,000 hectares and pilot the restoration of 25 hectares of a degraded water catchment area.
