An inspirational farmer knowledge exchange day in West Sumatra
We hosted a day dedicated to local farmers to share insights from our belowground biodiversity work with Malang University. Participating in various activities, they explored how 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀, 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀 play vital roles in improving soil health.

New publication from our research on underground biodiversity and restoration
The results of our research are now available. Our findings reveal how **earthworm diversity and activity significantly improve soil structure**, water retention, and nutrient cycling, all critical factors for sustainable crop production in Sumatra.

What does a woodpecker sound like when it's not drumming on wood?
With the acoustic monitoring equipment installed by Biometrio, we were able to detect and record vocalizations of a Picus puniceus, commonly known as the Crimson-winged woodpecker.

Way beyond expectations... the Sumatran Tiger passes by.
Our above – and belowground biodiversity inventory in West Sumatra is giving first results. Soils and earthworms are analysed in the lab of Malang University. The bioacoustics and camera traps do above-ground inventories, with unbelievable results.

Making our nursery twice the size.
Our team is building a new nursery adjacent to the old one, thereby doubling the size of the nursery to 0.5 ha. This will allow us to raise around 400,000 seedlings during one cycle.

With several years of erratic rainfall, bad rains, a continuous supply of seedlings from our nursery, combined with farmer solutions, trying to beat dry spells during the rainy season, we believe that we can fight climate change.
