Community Action for Health and Development (CAHED) is a grassroots community-based organization based in Homa Bay County, Kenya, working to advance inclusive, climate-resilient, and community-led development. Through partnerships with local communities, schools, youth groups, women-led initiatives, and persons with disabilities, CAHED promotes sustainable livelihoods, environmental stewardship, health equity, and social inclusion.
Aligned with the vision of Open Forest Protocol and the transparency principles of explorer.land, CAHED is committed to restoring ecosystems and strengthening community resilience through locally driven nature-based solutions. Our work integrates tree growing, agroforestry, biodiversity conservation, climate education, watershed protection, and regenerative land-use practices while empowering underserved communities to become active custodians of their environment.
CAHED uses participatory approaches, digital storytelling, and transparent impact tracking to showcase community action on forest restoration, climate adaptation, and sustainable development. By connecting local knowledge with innovative environmental solutions, we aim to create healthier landscapes, improved livelihoods, and a more equitable future for vulnerable populations across Kenya
