Organic coffee from Guatemalan highlands

The regional initiative unites farmer cooperatives representing small producers in the moutain range of Sierra de los Cuchumatanes in Huehuetenango, western Guatemala. The coffee is grown on family-run farms in diverse agroforestry systems, enhancing the ecological health and resilience of the landscape and the quality of the coffee. By providing alternative income to the families and local capacity building, the initiative contributes to reducing pressure on surrounding forest ecosystems.
