Organic Food Kenya (OFK), is a grassroots project focused on establishing and maintaining a farm with a dual purpose: growing healthy food and teaching interested participants an organic way of life.
Our farm is intended to be a model for healthy farming practices while producing food crops and raising chickens and other livestock. We have opened our doors to any and all with an interest in learning how to grow their own organic produce and/or. In addition to these activities, OFK offers workshops on subjects like water conservation, composting, and drought mitigation. In the last six years, we have hosted over 80 volunteers from local and western countries. Many of them have come with valuable skills to share that have helped us tremendously in meeting our goals.
When people work together building food and water security, bonds are forged among them. They share common goals and a belief in healthy living.
Organic Food Kenya is teaching community members to fish themselves out of poverty rather than giving them fish for a day.
