Welcome to one of the great natural and historic landscapes of Europe

The Three Kingdoms Region represents one of the best opportunities for setting up a large conservation landscape in Europe. This mountainous region is shared by three regional governments, the former medieval kingdoms of Aragon, Catalonia and Valencia.

In this area we can combine the recovery of natural vegetation and native wildlife with the beauty of its historic villages to establish a new economy, enhanced pride and greater enthusiasm for the future in rural communities that are losing their people.

The Three Kingdoms Initiative sought to establish a conservation landscape covering 550,000 ha where new and enlarged protected areas host healthy populations of native wildlife with broad-based support from local communities, authorities and the general public. This initiative was coordinated by Fundación Global Nature until July of 2020.
