Third Millennium Alliance (TMA) is a conservation organization with 18 years of experience protecting and restoring the Pacific Forest of Ecuador--one of the most biodiverse yet endangered tropical forests on Earth-- together with local communities. TMA’s approach centers on aligning conservation with community well-being to ensure lasting impact.
TMA advances this through three integrated strategies: 1.) protect critical habitat by acquiring threatened forest to build the 40,000-hectare Capuchin Corridor, linking the Jama-Coaque and Pata de Pájaro Reserves; 2.) restore degraded land through community-based cacao agroforestry, improving soil health, boosting biodiversity, and generating sustainable income; and 3.) invest in education and leadership development, equipping local youth and community members to manage resources and lead conservation efforts.
By combining protection, restoration, and education, TMA is creating a scalable, community-led model that addresses deforestation’s root causes while strengthening ecosystems and livelihoods.
