The WEPA Group is among the three largest European hygiene paper manufacturers, with 8% of the market share in Europe. The future-oriented European family business is an expert in the production of hygiene paper from recycled fibres. WEPA has been working with WWF-Germany on various projects and initiatives since 2017. The company has set a goal of reducing the ecological footprint of its fibre portfolio by 25% by 2030 (calculated using the ecological scarcity method, BAFU 2021), using at least 60% recycled fibres and non-wood virgin fibres. For the wood-based virgin fibres, 100% are currently sourced from certified sources, with 83.9% Forests Stewardship Council (FSC). Additionally, WEPA collaborates with suppliers on further measures to promote responsible forestry and biodiversity.
