Wildtracks is a Belize-registered non-profit organization, established in 1990 and located in the north east corner of Belize (Central America), approximately two miles south east of Sarteneja, an idyllic lobster fishing village, situated on the shore of Corozal Bay. We have evolved over the last thirty years to become a key conservation organization in Belize, leading national and site level planning for protected areas and biodiversity management in both the terrestrial and marine environments, towards Belize’s national biodiversity goals and targets.
Mission: To contribute towards the sustainable future of the natural resources of Belize, through conservation of ecosystems and species, building engagement and strengthening capacity towards effective environmental stewardship at all levels.
Working with the Belize Government, protected area managers, conservation organizations and stakeholders across Belize, we facilitate and nurture resilient partnerships over landscapes and seascapes at all levels of society to improve conservation outcomes in Belize.
Wildlife Rehabilitation: As part of our Threatened Species Programme, we manage two wildlife rehabilitation centres in Belize.
Capacity Building: Moving forward, we are focusing on building capacity for conservation planning in the Belize conservation community, both through providing training for early-stage conservation practitioners, and through inspiring the next generation of youths as future conservation leaders.
