Organic coffee

The association APODIP currently represents 164 small farmers of organic coffee in the mountain range Sierra de las Minas and the Polochic valley in eastern Guatemala. The coffee plants are growing in diverse agroforestry systems that are providing a number of services to the environment and local communities. The biodiversity is contributing to the landcape´s ecological helath and resilience. Additionnally the side species offer firewood and fruits to the families and contribute to nutrition and income. APODIP works closely together with the coffee farmers, providing support and cosultation within the production and constant quality control.

Flavour

Due to the process of drying the beans naturally and carefully in the sun, the coffee from APODIP is characterized by sweet, slightly fruity and fragrant aromas.
