The Aranta–Sotema Mangrove Restoration Project restores 948 hectares of estuary and coastal channels near Mahajanga. Led by ARC, RIR, DREDD, and local communities, it supports habitat recovery, sustainable use, and local livelihoods. Community members guide planting and care, while strong partnerships reinforce mangrove protection laws. Together, these efforts build resilience and ensure long-term stewardship of vital coastal ecosystems.
