Earthshot planting teams began an ambitious reforestation effort on private land surrounding Cerro Hoya National Park. The park contains 32,557 hectares of tropical rainforest located on the southern tip of the Azuero Peninsula in Panama and is an emphasis of the reforestation work. The area is one of the last remaining intact forests in Panama that supports a rich assemblage of unique and rare species with dramatic mountains falling into the Pacific Ocean. The park is home to Jaguars, spider monkeys, howler monkeys, the endangered Green Macaw, and the Azuero parakeet, a species endemic to the park.
