Today I visited the Xibalba project site for the first time. Sebastian de la Hoz gave me a tour of the property, both the restoration and conservation parts of it. See the gallery for more information.

Early morning walk through all projects at Xibalba with ornithologist Emnet Marroquin. Weather was cool and fair. Don Carlos, Scott, and Sebastian were present.

A visit to the project site for the purpose of a progress report and monitoring by the National Council for Protected Areas (CONAP) was made on the morning of November 4, 2020

The Aguadas Restoration Plot is a 8.5 Ha plot which was reforested with 6 different native tree species in this first phase.

We did an expedition to the community of Uaxactun located 23 km north of Tikal in the jungle in Peten, to find the Original Maya Cacao tree to get seeds. These cacao was found 80 years ago in the jungle by Don Chico Pop's father.

Tikal National Park tree nursery donated 800 seedlings to Green Balam Forests.
